Characteristics

A tree. It grows 65 m tall. The trunk is straight and 25 m tall. It has short buttresses. Young plants have brown thorns. The flowers are in spikes and are yellowish to greenish-white. The pods are 1 m long and 1 cm wide. The seeds are flat and have thin wings. The seeds can be 8 cm long.

Environment

Evergreen and deciduous forest; sometimes common; at elevations from 400-450 metres. Deciduous as well as evergreen forest, but is most abundant in well-drained sites in moist semi-deciduous forest.
