Caulis e radice tuberosa exsurgens, erectus, simplex, striatus, pubescens vel glabrescens, foliatus, 12-30 cm altus. Folia inferiora approximata, petiolata (petiolis 5-20 mm longis), reliqua passim sessilia, lamina in ambitu ovata vel oblonga, 20-40 x 10-20 mm, pinnati-partita usque pinnati-fida, segmentis anguste linearibus vel lanceolatis, pauci-dentatis vel iterum lobatis, superior sensim minor et 3-5-lobata aut obtusi-dentata vel (var.) 3-5-inciso-lobata (segmentis triangularibus acutis) vel plano-lobata tantum. Flores in racemo terminali, denso vel sublaxo, multifloro dispositi. Bracteae plus minusve digitato-partitae, floribus breviores. Pedicelli c. 3 mm longi, puberuli, bibracteolati. Calycis tubus turbinatus vel campanulatus, subhirtus vel glaber; lobi calycis anguste triangulares, integerrimi, glabri, erecti, 3-4 mm longi. Corolla 8-13 mm longa, glabra, bilabiata: labium superius trifidum, inferius bipetalum, partes extremae loborum lanceolatae, subrevolutae. Stamina 6 mm longa: filamenta pubescentia, ad basin dilatata et cohaerentia; antherae angusti-oblongae, 2 mm longae, 2 earum in connectivo dorsali brevi-pilosae, 3 glabrae vel (var.) omnes glabrae. Stylus staminibus brevior, glaber, apice obliquo-capitatus, pilosus, stigmate demum brevi-bilobum. Semina (immatura) videntur complanato-ovalia, anguste alata, c. 1.3 mm longa.
