Leaves closely placed, subsessile, erect, linear-lanceolate, 3.5–8 cm. long, 3–6 mm. wide, attenuate to an acute apex, truncate or rounded at the base, the margins strongly revolute, scabrid with long white setae 1–2 mm. long above from rugae bearing rings of cystoliths, similarly densely setose on the midrib beneath but rest of surface with shorter hairs.. Panicles terminal and ± narrow, up to 22 cm. long, 9 cm. wide; bracts leaf-like; pedicels (0.3–)0.8–2 cm. long, densely spreading hairy.. Sepals narrowly elliptic-lanceolate to lanceolate, 6–9 mm. long, ± 2 mm. wide, densely hairy outside and at margins, very densely long-hairy inside.. Corolla pale blue; tube cylindrical, 3–6 mm. long, glabrous outside, with a ring of long hairs above the insertion of the filaments; lobes linear-lanceolate from a triangular base, 1.5–2 cm. long, 3 mm. wide at base, long-acuminate, densely adpressed silky pilose outside but margins ± glabrous.. Anthers 4–7 mm. long with appendages 1–1.3 cm. long, 0.7–0.9 mm. wide, acuminate, sparsely pubescent outside.. Ovary glabrous, 4-lobed; style 1.5–2 cm. long.. Nutlets subtriquetrous, glabrous with outer face ± rounded, ± rugulose and wrinkled.
