Pod 1-seeded, 5–8.5 × 2–2.5 cm, rounded at the apex, broadly obtuse or cuneate at the base, densely fringed with plumose hairs on the margins, particularly the upper, otherwise pubescent-glabrescent, indehiscent.
Flowers 10–12 mm long, white or cream with the standard at least partly purple, clustered on nodes or on very short pedicels; pedicels 3–7 mm long.
Deciduous tree up to 10 m tall; crown irregular; bark rough, grey to dark brown, longitudinally fissured.
Calyx 4–5.5 mm long, puberulous; upper teeth shallow, rounded, the others obtuse or acute, c.1 mm long.
Ovary 6–8-ovulate, 7–8 mm long, sessile, densely rusty-sericeous; style 2–3 mm long, incurved.
