Pseudobulbs cylindrical, 150–400 × 3–5 mm, thin, furrowed, yellowish green. Leaves 2–3, 50–80 × 20–25 mm, dark green. Racemes 10–25 mm long, 1–4-flowered. Flowers 27–30 × 25–30 mm, usually apricot-coloured to burnt orange, less commonly yellowish green. Sepals and petals fleshy, widely spreading. Dorsal sepal erect, 14–17 × 6–8 mm. Lateral sepals widely divergent, 14–17 × 10–12 mm. Petals obliquely erect and spreading, 13–15 × 3 mm. Labellum c. 10 × 10 mm, white to orange with purplish red suffusions and markings; lateral lobes large, erect beside column, pointed; midlobe with 3 keels, margins with dense tangled white hairs to 3 mm long.
Restricted to higher mountainous areas on ranges and tablelands, but locally common; found growing on trees and rocks in cloud and mist forests on slopes and peaks where there is abundant moisture, humidity and air movement.
