Characteristics

Pseudobulbs cylindrical, middle slightly thicker, dark blackish brown, 200–1000 × 15–30 mm, upper half leafy. Leaves 80–150 × 20–40 mm, leathery, dark green, often suffused with brown or dark red to purple. Racemes 100–300 mm long, 4–20-flowered. Flowers 25–35 × 30–40 mm, pale brown to dark brown with yellow labellum. Sepals and petals spreading widely or remaining nearly closed, straight or slightly twisted. Dorsal sepal 25–30 × 7–9 mm. Lateral sepals 25–28 × 7–9 mm. Petals 28–32 × 7–8 mm. Labellum curved, c. 30 × 20 mm, yellow with dark red veins, with 5 ridges, 3 extending onto midlobe; lateral lobes erect or incurved; midlobe with wavy margins.
