Pseudobulbs cylindrical, 500–800 × 20–25 mm, leafy in upper half. Leaves 8–16, 100–160 × 40–60 mm, dark green, tough. Racemes 200–400 mm long, 8–25-flowered. Flowers 30–40 × 35–45 mm, pink, wine red or reddish mauve, often with white margins. Sepals and petals widely spreading, twisted with wavy margins. Dorsal sepal 20–30 × 6–10 mm. Lateral sepals 20–30 × 6–10 mm. Petals 25–40 × 8–15 mm. Labellum c. 25 × 20 mm; lateral lobes erect, prominently veined; midlobe decurved, margins wavy, with 3–5 ridges, crested and divergent on midlobe.
