Characteristics

An erect shrub. Branches terete, the branchlets somewhat compressed, striate-rugose. Leaves obovate-spatulate, long-attenuate to the base, the apex rounded and emarginate, veinless, moderately coriaceous, 2-3 cm. long, 1-1.5 cm. broad; petioles about 5 mm. long. Spikes solitary, axillary, 1-2-jointed, 5-15 mm. long, the peduncles 0-3 mm. long. Flowers 6-seriate, 18-40 in each joint. Fruit white, globose.
