Rigid, perennial herb or broom-like undershrub, similar to D. aphylla, 0.4-1.0 m high. Flowers: umbel rays 6-11, 5-25 mm long. Involucre of 4-6 caducous bracts. Calyx obsolete. Flowering time Feb.-Apr. Fruit ellipsoid, slightly laterally compressed, tuberculate or with almost globular, bladder hairs; mericarps subterete, with primary veins distinct, flat on face; vittae 6, 4 in furrows, 2 on face. Seeds flat on face, convex on back.
Perennial herb or shrub, up to 1 m high, almost leafless. Leaves aborted or, if present, radical, tripinnately decompound; cauline ones scale-like. Flowers: involucre a few bracts or absent; greenish yellow or yellowish white; Nov.-Apr. Fruit elliptic, slightly laterally compressed, with thickish, warty hairs (papillae).
Umbels terminal and lateral on long peduncles. Rays 6–10, 1·25–2 cm. long; bracts and bracteoles obsolete or caducous at a very early stage of development. Partial umbels 5–10-flowered, with pedicels c. 5 mm. long.
Fruit 3–5 × 2–3 mm., ovoid; stylopodium low-conical; styles short, divergent at maturity; ribs not very obvious, more or less covered with tubercles that are paler in colour than the main body of the fruit.
Carpophore deeply 2-cleft; vittae 1 in each interval and occupying most of the space between the ribs, and 2 in the commissural face; seed slightly concave on the inner face.
Subshrub, 0.4-1.0 m high, almost leafless. Fruit with thickish warty 'hairs' (papillae). Flowers green to yellow, yellowish white.
Stem leaves reduced to short linear petioles, or frequently to persistent bases alone, especially on the upper part of the stem.
Almost leafless, subglaucous shrubs or subshrubs up to 1·25 m., arising from a woody rootstock.
Basal leaves with linear leaflets, but soon withering and often absent in mature plants.
Calyx teeth obsolete; petals yellowish-white.
