Characteristics

A stemless herb, 1.5-2.5 in. high; leaves radical, ovate or lanceolate, obtuse, subentire or sparingly toothed, somewhat fleshy, 0.25-0.5 in. long, 0.083-0.2 in. broad; petiole about 0.4 in. long; peduncles numerous, leafless, 1-flowered, 0.8-1 in. long; calyx-segments lanceolate, acute, 0.083-0.125 in. long, 0.05 in. broad; corolla rotate, nearly without any tube, neither foveolate nor saccate; segments suborbicular; filaments subulate, shaggy with glandular hairs, about 0.125 in. long; style 0.083 in. long; capsules globose, 0.167 in in diam.; valves acuminate, about half as long again as the calyx.
