Characteristics

Perennial, sometimes annual, mat-forming or scrambling herb, up to 400 mm long; roots fibrous; stems decumbent. Leaves peltate to broadly ovate, obtuse, margins ± strongly dentate; petioles long-haired. Flowers single, axillary and pedicellate. Calyx: lobes ± acute, upper one narrow and elliptic. Corolla: tube with basal spur; limb bilabiate, upper lobes small, ascending, other 3 lobes larger and spreading, white to pale pink or mauve, often mauve speckled, palate yellow. Spur long and narrow, 2.5-3.0 mm long. Flowering time all year, mostly Nov., Dec., Apr., May.
