Petiole 1–3 mm. long, glabrous or pubescent; leaf-blade oblong, unequal-sided, 40–80(–93) mm. long, 20–35 mm. wide, acuminate apex 8–12(–15) mm. long, chartaceous, glabrous above, sparsely adpressed pubescent beneath (especially young leaves); midrib and lateral nerves prominent beneath.. Flowers silvery white, usually solitary; pedicel 1–3 mm. long, pubescent like the small triangular bracts.. Calyx-tube 20–25 mm. long, 1–2 mm. wide, densely white pubescent; lobes ovate-lanceolate, 10–13 mm. long, 2.5–3.5 mm. wide, finely pubescent on both sides.. Petals white, at least slightly exceeding the calyx-lobes, divided to the base, 10–14 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, oblong, at the upper part irregularly divided by deep incisions.. Stamens exserted, filaments 5–8 mm. long, anthers 1–2 mm. long.. Ovary shortly stipitate, glabrous; disc 1–2 mm. high, slightly and irregularly lobed; style 25–35 mm., somewhat exserted; stigma papillate.
