Characteristics

Plants 500-700 mm high. Stem ± erect, inclined or trailing, bearing entirely sheathing, bract-like leaves 30-50 mm long at upper nodes, branching irregularly. Foliage leaves 300-500 mm long, narrowly sword-shaped, 15-22 mm wide; bract-like leaves at upper nodes entirely sheathing. Rhipidial spathes obtuse to emarginate; inner 40-50 mm long, outer ± half as long. Flowers pale yellow to creamy white, with speckled, orange-brown nectar guides at bases of outer tepal limbs and spotted on claws, inner tepal claws sometimes spotted brown in 2 lines; outer tepals 30-40 x 15-17 mm long, claws ± 15 mm long, limbs spreading; inner tepals smaller, 27-38 mm long, limbs spreading. Stamens free; filaments 4-6 mm long, broad and contiguous in lower half, filiform above; anthers 5-6 mm. Ovary 10-14 mm long; style 2-3 mm long, branches ± 8 x 3-4 mm, crests 5-10 mm. Capsules ovoid, nodding to pendent, smooth, 30-35 x ± 12 mm, dehiscing irregularly, not along suture lines.
