Folia basalia + conspicue rosulata, caulina infima densa, cetera ± remota, omnia alterna (exsiccata) rigide membranacea subglabra lanceolato-linearia vel linearia usque 5(-8) cm longa usque 0.5(-0.8) cm lata margine parum callosa glanduloso-aspera integerrima vel remote dentata vel pinnatifida vel rarius pinnatipartita; nervus medius subtus prominens, nervi laterales vix conspicui. Involucri squamae c. 15 uniseriatae fere aequilongae lanceolatae vel lanceolato-lineares 5-8 mm longae 1-1.5 mm latae acuminatae dorso glanduloso-asperae margine sat late albido-scariosae apicem versus ciliatae. Flores radii involucri squamas numero aequantes; ligulae supra albae subtus purpureae-coerulescentes-pallide roseae plenunque colore fusco immixto involucrum 2-3-plo superantes; flores disci lutei. Achaenia radii matura glabra triangulari-obpyramidata, angulis irregulariter crenatis vel subintegerrimis, lateribus sublaevibus vel rugosis, apice truncata 4-5 mm longa. Achaenia disci glabra lateribus applanata obcordata-suborbicularia margine incrassata apice leviter emarginata 5-6 mm longa 4-5 mm lata.

Cypselae of ray florets triquetrous, angles crenate-toothed, faces rugulose and gland-dotted, cypselae of disc florets flat, with wide thickened rim, occasionally 3-winged.
