Diplolaena geraldtonensis Paul G.wilson

Shrub to 1.5 m high. Leaves with petiole 3–7 mm long; lamina flat, oblong to oblong-elliptic, 2.5–4 cm long, cuneate at base, rounded at apex, somewhat leathery, smooth adaxially and sparsely to moderately pubescent with weak stellate hairs, loosely velvety abaxially. Flower-heads c. 15 mm diam.; outer bracts ovate to narrowly triangular, 10–15 mm long, acute, densely tomentose with fawn (to rusty) unthickened hairs; inner bracts ovate to narrowly oblong, slightly exceeding outer bracts, acute to long-acuminate, pubescent. Petals c. 10 mm long, moderately pubescent. Stamens: filaments c. 20 mm long, pale red, stellate-pilose towards base; anthers c. 1.3 mm long, red.

Generally growing in gravel or sand.
