Characteristics

Shrub to 1.5 m high, erect or spreading, suckering, with simple and glandular hairs, the glands peltate and cream-coloured. Leaves petiolate, obovate-spathulate, obtuse, crenate, with glandular hairs, and simple hairs mainly on margin and midrib; lamina 1–4 cm long, rarely to 7 cm, 0.5–2 cm wide, rarely to 4 cm; petiole 2–12 mm long. Pedicels 3–7 mm long. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long. Petals broadly spathulate to orbicular, 4–5 mm long including claw; claw 1–1.5 mm long. Stamens 4–5 mm long. Cocci 3–4 mm long, crustaceous, muricate, with glandular hairs and sparse simple hairs.
