Characteristics

Plants with one or more erect or straggly leafy stems 50–1500 mm long. Leaves distichous, sword-shaped, 120–200 × 15 mm, curved, channelled, strongly ribbed, bases overlapping, dark green to pale green, apex pointed. Racemes arising from upper axils, erect, 300–550 mm long, green, 2–20-flowered. Ovaries slightly humped, pale, lightly spotted. Peranth segments spreading with recurved tips. Flowers 25–35 mm across, pink to mauve with dark purplish spots and blotches. Dorsal sepal 18–25 × 6 mm, erect. Lateral sepals 18–25 × 6 mm, widely divergent. Petals 16–23 × 4–6 mm, obliquely erect, divergent. Labellum 20–25 × 5–6 mm, pink to mauve; lateral lobes 5–8 × 1 mm; midlobe 7–10 × 4–8 mm, with narrow band of mauve hairs. Callus ridges small, parallel. Column 8–9 × 3–4 mm, white. Capsules reddish brown, spotted.
