Characteristics

Plants slender, 300-600 mm tall; basal sheaths several, hyaline; leaves rigid, imbricate, conduplicate, linear acuminate, up to 300 mm long, upper leaves more or less sheathing or with a linear free apex, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences subdense, 60-120 mm long; bracts dry, as long as or longer than the ovaries. Flowers deep pink, petals with purple apices. Median sepal angled forwards, acute, galeate, 15-20 x c. 6 mm; spur horizontal, at length decurved, slender, terete, acute, 25-35 mm long; lateral sepals patent, obªlong, acute, 13-20 mm long, apiculi small, slenªder. Petals erect next to the rostellum, narrowly oblong, subfalcate, obtuse, c. 7 mm long, with a basal anticous lobe c. 2 mm in diameter, flanking the stigma. Lip patent, apex deflexed, narrowly oblanceolate, obtuse, c. 15 mm long. Anther horiªzontal to semi-pendent; stigma equally tripulviªnate, flat; lateral rostellum lobes square, a small notch between them, central lobe reduced, fleshy.
