Characteristics

Plants slender, up to 200 mm tall; leaves cauline, lax, erect, linear, acute, up to 100 mm long, gradªing into the floral bracts. Inflorescences subdense, 5-20-flowered; bracts as tall as or overtopping the flowers. Flowers partially resupinate, sepals pink spotted dark purple, lip reddish purple. Median sepal erect, acuminate, galea 7 mm tall, 3 mm deep, with shallow median dorsal groove; spur pendent, emarginate, 3-4 mm long; lateral sepals obliquely narrowly ovate, slightly concave, 6-7 x 2.5-3 mm. Petals consisting of a semi-orbicular basal anticous lobe 1.5 mm in diameter and flanking the stigma and much-reduced acute main part, lanceolate, 2 mm long. Lip lorate to narrowly oblanceolate, acute, 5-6 mm long. Anther horiªzontal; viscidia small, globular; stigma borne horizontally; rostellum with a large fleshy central lobe.
