Characteristics

Plants slender, 150-450 mm tall; basal sheaths several, hyaline; leaves rigid, erect, conduplicate, subimbricate, up to 180 mm long. Inflorescences lax, 40-100 mm long; bracts dry, as long as or overtopping the flowers. Flowers white to lilac, veins darker, petals white with purple apices. Median sepal shallowly galeate, acute, erect, 7-12 mm tall; spur horizontal, usually straight, 2.5-5 mm long; lateral sepals oblong to broadly elliptic, acute, 8-12 mm long, with long pointed apiculi. Petals erect inside the galea, apices overlapping, oblanceolate, acute, with a large basal anticous lobe, 3.5-5 mm long. Lip patent, lorate to oblong, obtuse, 7-9 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma horizontal, margin taller than and curved over the receptive surface; rostellum small.
