Characteristics

Plants 300-600 mm tall; leaves cauline, erect, imbricate, narrowly lanceolate, up to 120 mm long, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences dense, numerous-flowered; bracts shortly overtopping the flowers. Flowers with lateral sepals pale lilac, median sepal white, lip lime-green. Median sepal shallowly galeate, apiculate, 4-5 mm tall x 2 mm deep, with 2 sacs in the rear; spur slender, cylindrical, often somewhat inflated api-cally, 12-16 mm long, ascending; lateral sepals re-flexed, oblong-ovate, acute, 4-6 mm long, apicu-lus massive, 2.2 mm long. Petals included in galea, obliquely broadly ovate, 3 mm long, apex obliquely truncate with the anterior portion serrate, posterior portion somewhat taller, obtuse, flanking the anther with the apex somewhat curved over it. Lip pendent, narrowly oblong, rounded, 5 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma sessile, equally tripulvinate; rostellum with 2 shallowly canaliculate lateral lobes, central lobe very reduced, fleshy.
