Characteristics

Plants to 600 mm tall; basal leaves lorate and up to 200 mm long, dry at the time of flowering, cauline leaves dry, sheathing. Inflorescences lax with few flowers. Flowers cream or mauve with purple or red streakings on the petals and purple dots on the galea. Median sepal flat but galeate at the base, 15-30 mm long; spur slender, 20-90 mm long; lateral sepals narrowly lorate to lanceolate, 15-25 mm long. Petals lorate, 15-30 mm long, with significant anticous lobe, exserted from the median sepal. Lip lorate. Anther semi-pendent, about 3 mm long; stigma pad c. 2 mm high, stig-matic area purple; rostellum triangular, erect.
