Characteristics

Plants to 150 mm tall; leaves 3-5, cauline, linear, sometimes with reddish margins, about 50 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, sheathing base much wider. Inflorescences dense cylindrical racemes with 10-20 flowers; bracts lanceolate, longer to slightly shorter than the flowers. Flowers not re-supinate, inwardly directed to face the floral axis, dull carmine-red and cream-coloured in the anteªrior half of the median sepal and at the base of the petals and the lip; ovary untwisted, tinged with red. Median sepal galeate, ± 3 mm long; spur shortly saccate and obscurely grooved posteriorly, slightly ascending; lateral sepals naviculate, obªlong-ovate with obscure apiculi, 3.3-4 mm long. Petals falcate, 1.9 mm long, with obscure anticous lobes. Lip spoon-shaped, 2.5-3.1 mm long, somewhat fleshy in the apical third. Anther hori-zontal, about 2 mm long; stigma-pad approxiªmately 1 mm high; rostellum with 2 short lateral lobes.
