Characteristics

Plants erect, 100-400 mm tall; leaves imbricate to subimbricate, erect, narrowly lanceolate, up to 100 mm long. Inflorescences subdense to lax, 3-20-flowered; bracts overtopping the flowers at the inflorescence base, but as tall as the flowers at the apex. Flowers pale brown, veins in the sepals dark brown, lip purple with yellow base and apex, petals with purple apex. Median sepal galeate, acute, c. 5 mm tall x 4 mm deep, obsolete saccate basally; lateral sepals oblong, acute, c. 6 mm long. Petals suboblique, narrowly ovate, borne parallel to the anther with the apex curved over it, c. 4 mm long, the apex somewhat crenulate. Lip narrowly ovate, acute, 3-4 mm long. Anther horizontal, 1.5 mm long; stigma with front margin somewhat taller than the rear; lateral rostellum lobes square, central lobe fleshy and somewhat taller.
