Plants 100-400 mm tall; basal sheath(s) hyaline; leaves lax to imbricate, erect, up to 250 mm long, grading apically into the floral bracts. Inflorescences usually dense, with few to numerous flowers; bracts overtopping the flowers. Flowers relaªtively large, pink to white. Median sepal galeate, shortly acuminate, c. 7 x 4 mm deep; spur someªwhat pendent and soon decurved, stout, clavate, 2-4 mm long, obscurely grooved below; lateral seªpals oblong, acute, 5-7 mm long. Petals falcate, sharply bent midway, curved around behind the anther, apex erect and acute, somewhat ciliate, baªsal anticous lobe semi-circular, margin sometimes crenulate, flanking the stigma. Lip lanceolate to lorate, acute, pilose either on the upper or both surfaces, 4-5 mm long. Anther horizontal or subªpendent, auricles well-developed; stigma horiªzontal, tripulvinate; lateral rostellum lobes enªclosing viscidia, central lobe fleshy.
