Characteristics

Plants subflexuose, 60-300 mm tall; basal leaves often forming a rosette, short-petioled, narrowly elliptic to narrowly oblanceolate, 10-60 mm long, cauline leaves lax to imbricate, c. 20 mm long. Inflorescences with a single flower; bract shorter than the ovary. Flowers blue, petals with purple markings. Median sepal erect, galea 13-17 mm tall x 7-12 mm deep, narrowly ovate in front view; spur obsolete or saccate; lateral sepals patent, narrowly ovate to obovate, 15-18 mm long, often apiculate. Petals with a linear basal part parallel to the anther, c. 7 mm long, apical part curved up behind it, narrowly obovate, truncate, c. 4 mm long. Lip patent, narrowly lanceolate to narrowly oblong, c. 15 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma equally tripulvinate; lateral rostellum lobes erect, canaliculate.
