Characteristics

Plants 150-350 mm tall; leaves cauline, lower 3-10 clustered basally, narrowly elliptic, up to 50 mm long, remainder scattered on the stem, lax, completely sheathing, 10-20 mm long. Inflorescences corymbose, 1-6-flowered; bracts much shorter than the ovaries. Flowers purplish red, speckled. Median sepal erect, shallowly galeate, obtuse, 10-14 x c. 8 mm; spur horizontal, very slender, terete, acute, apex often somewhat curved upwards, 15-40 mm long; lateral sepals patent, oblong, obtuse to rounded, 10-15 mm long. Petals erect, narrowly oblong, rounded, subfalcate, curved over and around the anther, c. 8 mm long. Lip patent, narrowly elliptic, subacute, c. 10 mm long. Anther more or less horizontal; stigma on a 1 mm long pedicel, lateral lobes larger than meªdian lobe; lateral rostellum lobes erect, canalicuªlate.
