Characteristics

Plants to 500 mm tall; radical leaves linear, up to 300 mm long, cauline leaves lax to subimbricate, 30-50 mm long, sheathing. Inflorescences lax, c. 100 mm long; bracts about as long as the ovaries. Flowers not resupinate, sepals greenish red, petals and lip deep maroon. Median sepal slightly spathulate with a very short limb, blade deeply concave, orbicular, apiculate, c. 8 mm in diameªter, margin somewhat dentate; spur absent; lateral sepals ovate, acute, concave, c. 8 mm long. Petals with the basal 4 mm narrowly ovate, parallel to the anther, apical 1.5 mm somewhat expanded and curved up behind the anther, shallowly bilobed, tomentose. Lip reniform, c. 4 mm long x 6 mm wide, front margin ciliate. Stigma horizontal, flat; lateral rostellum lobes very small, canaliculate, central lobe apparently obsolete.
