Characteristics

Plants 140-240 mm tall; leaves narrowly lanceolate, acute, blades flat with rounded backs, to 100 mm long and 40 mm wide. Inflorescences loosely cylindrical, to 60 mm long, 10-45 flowered; bracts narrowly lanceolate, acute, apices often browning off. Flowers resupinated, c. 10-12 mm in diameter, sepals white, lip and petals yellow to brown towards the apices, bases white. Median sepal shallowly galeate, obtuse, curved forwards, 5 mm long; spur tapering to the rounded apex, 2 mm long and 1.5 mm wide; lateral sepals spreading, lanceolate, slightly oblique, obtuse, shortly apiculate, 4.5 mm long. Petals erect, square, 2.5 mm tall and 2 mm wide, shallowly bilobed, lobes somewhat swollen, front lobe combining with the median sepal in forming a deep galea, rear lobe curved over the anther, resulting in a small entrance into the spur. Lip spreading, linear, 4 mm long, apical 2h somewhat swollen. Anther c. 1 mm long; stigma raised on a 1 mm tall pedicel; rostellum 1 mm tall, notched.
