Characteristics

Plants erect, 50-300 mm tall; leaves cauline, imbricate, erect, linear, acute, up to 80 x 8 mm. Inflorescences lax, with up to 20 flowers; bracts usually overtopping the flowers. Flowers white with dull purple-brown markings on the galea and brownish veins. Median sepal galeate, 4x5 mm deep, acuminate; spur horizontal from the galea base, 2 mm long, clavate in side view and lorate in dorsal view, apex somewhat decurved or curved upwards, usually emarginate; lateral sepals oblong, acute, c. 5 mm long. Petals erect next to the anther, falcate, c. 4 mm long, basal anticous lobe flanking the stigma. Lip lorate, acute, 4 mm long. Anther horizontal; auricles well developed; stigma horizontal with prominent front margin; rostellum with square lateral lobes and small fleshy central lobe.
