Characteristics

Plants slender, 150-300 mm tall; radical leaves 3-6, petioles much shorter than the blades, blades patent, elliptic, apiculate, 30-60 mm long, cauline leaves closely sheathing, lax, narrowly lanceolate, c. 25 mm long, grading into the radical leaves and floral bracts. Inflorescences corymbose or subco-rymbose, 2-10-flowered; bracts slightly shorter than and enclosing the ovaries. Flowers purplish pink, petals lilac below and yellow barred with purple above. Median sepal 8-11 mm tall, rounded, galea almost spherical, 6 mm wide x 5 mm deep, entrance reduced to a narrow slit; spur obsolete; lateral sepals spreading upwards, obªovate, rounded, deeply concave, 10-14 mm long. Petals flanking the anther, apex curved over it, lorate, falcate, c. 5-6 mm long. Lip linear to lorate, 4-6 mm long. Anther semi-erect to horiªzontal; stigma sessile, tripulvinate; lateral rostelªlum lobes erect, canaliculate, central lobe reduced.
