Characteristics

Plants slender, grass-like, up to 600 mm tall; basal leaves hysteranthous, linear, shortly petiolate, up to 100 mm long, cauline leaves lax, completely sheathing, c. 20 mm long. Inflorescences lax, slender, secund; bracts shorter than the ovaries, acuminate. Flowers brown. Median sepal erect, shortly acuminate, galea 2.5-5 x 1-2 mm deep; spur slender, terete, acute, at length usually asªcending, 20-30 mm long; lateral sepals lanceolate, acute, shallowly concave, 2-4 mm long. Petals erect, flanking the stigma, oblong, obliquely trunªcate, 2-3 mm tall, venation falcate. Lip linear, 3-4 mm long. Stigma on a 0.5 mm long pedicel, stig-matic surface deeply concave; rostellum with a single deep notch for the 2 separate viscidia, cenªtral lobe very reduced.
