Characteristics

Plants slender, grass-like, up to 500 mm tall; basal leaves linear, often petiolate, hysteranthous, up to 300 mm long, cauline leaves lax, dry, up to 50 mm long. Inflorescences lax to rarely dense spikes; bracts usually as long as the ovary, long-acuminate. Flowers greenish-brown to white. Median sepal erect, shallowly galeate with a 2.5 mm long aristate process, galea 3-6 x c. 2 mm deep; spur subobsolete to 1 mm long, subconical; lateral sepals patent, elliptic-oblong to narrowly ovate, 3-6 mm long, apiculi 0.3-2 mm long. Petals erect next to the rostellum, subfalcate, oblong, truncate, c. 2 mm long, front margin entire or serrate. Lip patent to pendent, broadly elliptic to narrowly lanceolate, acute, 2-3 mm long, margins entire or serrate. Anther horizontal; stigma shortly pediªcellate, more or less square, horizontal or angled forwards; rostellum erect, lateral lobes enclosing a single (probably connate) viscidium, central lobe obsolete.
