Characteristics

Plants 60-200 mm tall; leaves cauline, lower leaves green, lorate or elliptic, up to 40 mm long, upper leaves dry, completely sheathing, imbricate, up to 30 mm long. Inflorescences subcorymbose, 2-8-flowered; bracts dry, about as long as the ovaries. Flowers mauve with deeper purple markings. Median sepal shallowly galeate, narrowly obªovate, often obscurely trilobed, 8-10 mm long; spur very slender, terete, acute, straight, horizonªtal to parallel to the ovary, c. 5 mm long; lateral sepals patent, narrowly oblong to narrowly obªovate, obtuse, 8-13 mm long, apiculi short. Petals erect, partially exserted from the galea, very narªrowly lanceolate, c. 6 mm long, with a basal antiªcous lobe flanking the stigma. Lip very narrowly oblanceolate, c. 8 mm long. Anther semi-pendent; stigma on a 1 mm long pedicel.
