Characteristics

Plants slender, flexuose, 100-500 mm tall; basal sheath(s) 1-2, apiculate, hyaline; leaves 3-6, narrowly lanceolate, often falcate, up to 250 mm long, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences lax, c. 20-flowered; bracts overtopping the flowers at the inflorescence base. Flowers horizontal, white or cream. Median sepal hemispherical, rounded or apiculate, galea 4.5-8 mm tall and c. 5 mm deep; spur horizontal and constricted basally, more or less clavate apically, often somewhat de-curved, 2-4 mm long; lateral sepals patent, obªlong, acute, 5-8 mm long. Petals falcate, acute, basal anticous lobe flanking the stigma, circular, 1.5 mm in diameter, margins often crenulate, main part lorate, c. 4 mm long, flanking the anªther. Lip lanceolate, acute, c. 4 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma tripulvinate with the front marªgin often taller than the receptive surface; lateral rostellum lobes square, holding the viscidia, cenªtral lobe small, fleshy.
