Characteristics

Plants 50-200 mm tall; leaves cauline, lower 2-5 clustered basally, lorate to lanceolate, up to 50 mm long, remainder almost entirely sheathing, imbricate, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences dense, usually subcorymbose, 3-10 (-15)-flowered; bracts about as long as the ovaries. Flowers rose-pink with darker spots on lateral sepals and petals. Median sepal elliptic, shallowly galeate, apical margin incurved, 5-6 mm long; spur soon slender, terete, acute, straight, parallel to the ovary, 5-6 mm long; lateral sepals patent, oblong, rounded to truncate, 5-6 mm long. Petals narrowly obovate, apiculate, c. 4 mm long, apex canoe-shaped and curved over the anther, margins and veins with a scattering of simple unicellular hairs. Lip oblanceolate, retuse, c. 4 mm long. Anther half-pendent; stigma horizontal, shortly stipitate, tripulvinate; lateral rostellum lobes square, central lobe smaller, fleshy.
