Characteristics

Plants erect, 80-250 mm tall; radical leaves 4-10, petiole white or hyaline, blade elliptic, 10-15 mm long, cauline leaves sheathing, subimbricate, narrowly lanceolate, 20-30 mm long, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences subcorymbose to corymbose, dense, with 1 to many flowers; bracts shorter than and enclosing the ovaries. Flowers white, sepals with more or less pink veins or more rarely tinted pink, petals with pink and yellow horizontal bars. Median sepal erect, acute, 9-12 mm tall, galea 8-10 mm wide x 6-8 mm deep; spur semi-pendent, slender, truncate, often curved downwards, laterally flattened, 2-4 mm long; lateral sepals patent, flat, obovate, rounded, 9-15 mm long, apiculi small. Petals narrowly oblong to narrowly obovate, oblique, c. 6 mm long, broadly fused basally to the rostellum, apex almost cucul-late and curved over the anther. Lip patent, lorate, c. 5 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma horizontal, sessile, equally tripulvinate; lateral rostellum lobes horn-shaped, canaliculate, erect, central lobe reflexed.

Flowers 1-many resupinate, white to pale pink with yellow horizontal bars. Sepals: median sepal galeate; lateral sepals 9-15 mm long; spur slender, laterally flattened, 2-4 mm long. Petals strap-shaped, reflexed parallel to anther, obliquely narrowly oblong, apex acute curved over anther. Lip patent, strap-shaped, ± 5 mm long. Flowering time Sept.-Jan., after fire.
