Characteristics

Plants 300-600 mm tall; radical leaves 6-12, rigid-erect, sclerophyllous, reaching the inflorescence base or shorter, less than 2 mm wide, cauline leaves brown, lax, 15-40 mm long. Inflorescences lax, 2-12-flowered. Flowers blue. Median sepal erect, acuminate, galea 10-18 mm tall x 4-8 mm deep; spur horizontal, conical, acute, 1.5-3 mm long; lateral sepals patent, oblong to narrowly oblong, 12-16 mm long. Petals with small basal anticous lobes, oblong, 1.5 mm long, limb linear, falcate, 6 mm long, apically expanded to form a fan to 3 mm wide or unequally and often obliquely bilobed. Lip more or less ovate, variably lacerate, shorter than the lateral sepals, decurved, 7-12 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma horiªzontal, unequally tripulvinate; rostellum with 3 equal narrowly lanceolate lobes.
