Characteristics

Plants c. 600 mm tall; cauline leaves lax to subimbricate, erect, up to 100 mm long, grading into the floral bracts. Inflorescences subdense, 4-20-flowered; bracts slightly longer than the ovaries. Flowers borne horizontally, mauve-pink. Median sepal erect, galea obovate, shortly apiculate, 10-15 mm tall x 2-3 mm deep; spur slender cylindrical, sharply deflexed, 30-40 mm long; lateral sepals patent, oblong, shallowly concave, 10-13 mm long, apiculus 1-2 mm long. Petals erect, flanking the gynostemium, subfalcate, narrowly oblong, 8-13 mm long, partially included in galea, with small basal anticous lobe. Lip lorate, acute, subpendent, c. 13 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma shortly stipitate, subequally tripulvinate; lateral rostellum lobes square, deeply concave.
