Characteristics

Plants pubescent, 40-100 (-150) mm; leaves 2, cauline, alternate, ovate to suborbicular, acute, sheath and margins sparsely pubescent, mostly 8-25 x 5-17 mm. Inflorescences 1-2 (-3)-flowered; bracts ovate, acute, sparsely pubescent, normally 4-10 x 2.5-6 mm. Flowers with green sepals and white petals; ovary ovoid, 5-6 mm long. Median sepal ovate, galeate, 3 x 1.75 mm, with a spur 2-3 mm long; lateral sepals ovate, acuminate, 2-3 x 1.5 mm, spurs 0.5 mm long, very rarely lacking. Petals adnate to the median sepal, curved, obovate with a small basal auricle, 2.5 x 1.5 mm. Lip free from the gynostemium; claw linear-oblanceolate, 1.5 mm long; blade triangular, acute, to 1 mm long; appendage oblong, apex usually incurved, apically bifid, papillate, 3 mm long. Anther reflexed; stigma frontal, oblong; rostellum arms curled inwards, to 2 mm long.
