Characteristics

Plants mostly 150-300 mm; leaves 3, cauline, alternate, ovate to lanceolate, acute, usually 20-80 x 8-33 mm. Inflorescences 1-8-flowered; bracts ovate to lanceolate, acute, usually 10-35 x 5-12 mm. Flowers white, flushed pink or green, petals green along the margins and spotted mauve within; ovary narrowly cylindrical, 15-20 mm long. Median sepal incurved, broadly ovate, with a sac-like hood 10-16 mm deep, 8-10 x 7-9 mm; lateral sepals oblong-ovate with a small auricle, acuminate, 10-13 x 4.5-5 mm, spurs 1 mm long. Petals adnate to the median sepal, curved, falcate, clawed, rotund, with a small basal auricle and a subapical cartilaginous lobe, 7-8 x 5-6 mm. Lip basally fused to the gynostemium; claw recurved, 5 mm long; blade deeply pouched, verrucose within, cohering with the tips of the petals and median sepal, triangular with inrolled margins; appendage slender, pubescent, apex decurved and sigmoid, with a pair of narrowly oblong flanges, 6 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma dorsal, biªlobed, lobes diverging; rostellum arms broad and shortly projecting, 2 mm long.
