Characteristics

Plants 140-300 mm; leaf 1, cauline, half way up the stem, ovate, acute, base cordate, sometimes purple beneath, mostly 20-55 x 13-40 mm. Inflorescences 1-3 (-4)-flowered; bracts ovate, 7-25 (-30) x 5-15 mm. Flowers white, sometimes flushed with pink, petals with pink spots within; ovary cylindrical, twisted, 15-20 mm long; scent strong, soapy. Median sepal oblanceolate, acuminate, 9 x 5 mm, with a slightly decurved sac-like hood 3-4 mm deep; lateral sepals at first ascend ing then sharply deflexed, ovate, acute, 10-12 x 4-6 (-7) mm, spurs 2-2.5 mm long. Petals adnate to the median sepal, falcate, clawed, blade oblong, 6-7 x 3-4 mm. Lip basally fused to the gynoªstemium; claw 6 mm long; blade oblong, 3.5 mm long; appendage ascending, oblong, apex pubesªcent, 2.5 mm long. Anther reflexed; stigmas dorªsal, large; rostellum arms suberect, twisted, 2 mm long.
