Characteristics

Plants mostly 200-460 mm; leaves (2-) 3 (-5), cauline, alternate, ovate to linear-lanceolate, acute, (7-) 15-55 (-80) x 1.5-7 mm. Inflorescences normally 2-4-flowered; bracts ovate, 7-30 (-50) x 4-8 mm. Flowers magenta and green, petals spotted with purple, rarely white; ovary narrowly cylindrical, 12-20 (-30) mm long. Median sepal elliptic, attenuate, pubescent within, mostly 10-12 x 3-4.5 mm, 2-3 mm deep; lateral sepals at first spreading horizontally then sharply deflexed in the distal half, ovate, attenuate, pubescent at the base, mostly 10-12 x 3-5 mm, spurs 1.5-3 mm long. Petals adnate to the median sepal, curved, falcate, clawed, pubescent, acuminate, mostly 10-11 x 3 mm. Lip basally fused to the gynostemium; claw 5-6 mm long; blade triangular, attenuate, conduplicate, 6-7 mm long; appendage carnose, 0.5 mm long. Anther horizontal; stigma dorsal, bilobed; rostellum arms porrect and sharply flexed outwards in the outer third, 4-5 (-6) mm long.
