Characteristics

Plants pubescent, mostly 60-180 mm; leaves 2, cauline, alternate, elliptic to subrotund, lower at least petiolate, sheath, margins and sometimes the veins beneath pubescent, 6-25 (-40) x 3-17 (-23) mm. Inflorescences 1-3 (-4)-flowered; bracts ovate, acute, margins and veins pubescent, 7-25 (-30) x 5-10 (-16) mm. Flowers greenish-yellow; ovary ovoid, pubescent, 8 (-10) mm long; scent strong, sweet. Median sepal with a deep sac-like hood projecting horizontally, 5-7 mm deep, pubescent, (5-) 6-7 x (3-) 4-5 mm; lateral sepals horizontally spreading then sharply inflexed, oblanceolate, acute, 6-7 x 3-4 mm, spurs saccate, 2.5 mm deep. Petals adnate to the median sepal, falcate, clawed, basally fused to the gynostemium, 3 x 1.5 mm. Lip free from the gynostemium; claw c. 5 mm long; blade 1 mm long; appendage ascending, narrowly naviculate, apex pubescent, 2 mm long. Anther reflexed; stigma frontal, ovate; rostellum arms curled outwards, 2 mm long.
