Environment

Once locally common, now highly localised and very rare. It grew on grassy plains dominated by kangaroo grass (Themeda triandra) and forbs, on the banks of streams and gullies which bisect the plains, and also on gently sloping sites among scattered, small basalt boulders in heavy, red-brown to blackish loam.
