Characteristics

Leaves 2 or 3, 120–250 × 8–12 mm, folded. Flower stem 150–400 mm tall, 1–4-flowered. Flowers 20–30 mm across, pale yellow to yellow with brown to red-brown markings, exterior surface of all segments stained or marked with brown; petals unmarked, dorsal sepal heavily marked with brown, commonly with a yellow central area, labellum lobes heavily marked with brown or red-brown, lateral sepals brown with green tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 4–8 × 7–11 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed, crossed and recurved, 11–18 × 2–3 mm. Petals obliquely erect; stalk 3–5 mm long, curved, blackish; blade 10–15 × 5–10 mm. Labellum 5–8 mm long; lateral lobes 7–9 × 3–5 mm; midlobe flattish to convex, margins shallowly downcurved, narrowly wedge-shaped when flattened, 4–6 × 4–7 mm. Callus ridge 1, 3–4 mm long, yellow.
