Leaves 2 or 3, 150–350 × 5–9 mm, folded. Flower stem 300–500 mm, 3–9-flowered. Flowers 25–35 mm across, whitish, mauve or light purple often with darker marbled markings, lightly fragrant. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 10–20 × 8–12 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed, 40–120 × 2–4 mm. Petals erect; stalk 3–7 mm long, dark; blade elliptical, 6–16 × 6–10 mm. Labellum 10–15 mm long, with purple streaks; lateral lobes 3–6 × 1–3 mm; midlobe fan-shaped, 10–15 × 8–15 mm, wrinkled, margins with a prominent fold. Callus ridges 2, 5–6 mm long, broad.

Environment

Apparently once common in parts of the southern Riverina, but now restricted to a few small, scattered groups on flat areas and degraded dunes, growing among coarse grass and forbs in relict patches of white cypress pine woodland in freely draining, red-brown, sandy soil.
