Leaves 4–6, 100–200 × 3–6 mm, straight. Flower stem 500–800 mm, 2–7-flowered. Flowers 20–30 mm across, bright yellow with reddish brown markings and callus outline. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 14–18 × 9–12 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely deflexed below labellum, 18–22 × 3.5–5 mm. Petals obliquely erect or recurved; stalk 5–7 mm long, blackish; blade 12–16 × 10–12 mm. Labellum 15–18 mm long; lateral lobes 7–10 × 4–6 mm; midlobe convex, margins strongly downcurved, ovate when flattened, 12–16 × 11–14 mm. Callus ridges 2, 7–9 mm long, parallel.

Environment

Localised and forming small to large crowded colonies in swamps, seepage areas, and seasonally wet, low-lying sites in puggy clay or sandy clay soils; near Frankland River it grows in small swamps and wet depressions surrounded by thick, shrubby forest. Once common in some Perth suburbs.
