Characteristics

Leaves 2 or 3, 100–250 × 8–10 mm, folded. Flower stem 150–400 mm, 1–7-flowered. Flowers 25–35 mm across, yellow with reddish or brownish suffusions and markings; petals bright yellow, dorsal sepal and labellum lobes yellow heavily suffused and marked with red-brown. Dorsal sepal erect, 10–12 × 11–14 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed, 16–21 × 2–3 mm. Petals obliquely erect; stalk 4–6 mm long, reddish; blade elliptical, 15–18 × 7–9 mm, with an exterior yellow stripe. Labellum 9–12 mm long; lateral lobes 5–8 × 4–5 mm; midlobe shallowly convex, margins downcurved, broadly wedge-shaped when flattened, 7–9 × 7–8 mm, tip decurved. Callus ridge 1, 2–4 mm long, yellow.

Widespread and common in near-coastal and adjacent areas; forms vegetative colonies among shrubs and in open areas of jarrah forest, Eucalyptus wandoo woodland and Banksia woodland in freely draining sand and laterite.
