Leaves 2, 100–350 × 5–10 mm, folded. Flower stem 100–200 mm, 1–7-flowered. Flowers 30–35 mm across, white to pale mauve with few darker purple spots and striations, strongly fragrant. Dorsal sepal erect, 12–15 × 8–12 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely decurved, 50–85 × 2–2.5 mm. Petals erect or recurved; stalk 5–8 mm long, green, expanded into blade; blade ovate, 9–12 × 6–8 mm. Labellum 9–12 mm long, with prominent purple streaks and blotches; lateral lobes 3.5–5 × 1.5–2.5 mm, irregular; midlobe fan-shaped, 8–10 × 7–10 mm, wrinkled. Callus ridges 2, 4–5 mm long, purple-marked, central area white.

Restricted to parts of the Keilor basalt plain to the immediate N and W of Melbourne; growing among basalt rocks on gentle slopes and open areas in grassland dominated by kangaroo grass in well-structured red-brown basalt loam and blackish basaltic loam.
